My name is Lana, I’m a simple Syrian Damascene girl. I can’t call myself a professional artist yet…

I am a simple person who loves the art of drawing, but the concerns of life took me away from it, although in the end it was a source of my psychological comfort and long treatment after I was diagnosed eight years ago with fibromyalgia, which is a chronic inflammation in the ends of muscle nerves, and it causes indescribable chronic pain throughout night and day, insomnia and depression, which changed my life completely, especially in its beginnings when I did not know the details of this disease and all its physical, psychological problems.

In the early years, I lost myself… I lost my will for living and my hope for the future … I changed so much that I played the thoughts of suicide in my mind, but my belief in God Almighty is what helped me from this step.

Until I decided to return to my hobby and I met with my mentor Ayman Al-Daqr, may he rest in peace, supported and encouraged me to revitalize the passion for drawing. But I lost him before he finished mentoring journey with me. And here I am trying to be an artist who expresses her pain and sufferings in her simple paintings, which I hope you will like, although they may not be at the level of professional artists, but I am trying to rise to a better artistic level.
This fibromyalgia collection is my muse, my therapy to deal with my health situation and it felled me with a new perspective of life, of loving myself and believing in my potentials more and fulfilling my dreams. I have now a reason to love life and appreciate everything I have even more than before.

I hope that with my straggle I’ll be an inspiration to all of you fibromyalgia fighters and I promise that the new paintings will be filled of love and colors that will Enlighten your life too with the touch of a butterfly 🦋.
